Due to the inclement weather forecast for Monday, May 27, the Gwinnett County Memorial Day Ceremony at the Fallen Heroes Memorial will move indoors to the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center auditorium.
The ceremony will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. at 75 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville.
The ceremony will include remarks by the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners, and Georgia Department of Veterans Service Commissioner Patricia Ross will deliver a keynote address.
After a distinguished 25-year military career, Commissioner Ross retired as an Air Force Colonel. She now leads the statewide organization charged with advising, counseling and assisting Georgia veterans and their families with receiving their benefits.
World War II Technician Fourth Grade Edaniel Hinton Moore and Georgia State Trooper Jimmy Cenescar will be inducted into the Gwinnett County Fallen Heroes Memorial during the ceremony.
The event is usually held at the Fallen Heroes Memorial on the north end of the parking lot at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center on Langley Drive. The ceremony has been moved to the building’s auditorium on the first floor, immediately adjacent to the building’s front entrance. The ceremony will also stream live on the County’s Facebook page @GwinnettGov.
