Registration under way for DeKalb County’s 34th Annual Senior Olympics

DECATUR, GA– Registration is underway for the 34^th Annual DeKalb County Senior Olympic Games for ages 50 and older. Seniors from DeKalb and surrounding counties are invited to register by April 21.

The games will be held May 1-12 at various venues across  DeKalb. The kickoff for the games will be on Wednesday, May 1, 9 a.m., at Exchange Intergenerational Recreation Center 2771 Columbia Drive, Decatur.

The Olympic-style sports festival will include free-throw basketball, bowling, track and field, billiards, swimming, table tennis, line dancing, water volleyball and more.

Participants are encouraged to compete as a team or enter individual events. Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each event. Seniors needing special assistance regarding transportation should call MARTA Mobility at 404-848-5389.

The DeKalb County Senior Olympic Games is part of National Older Americans Month, which is celebrated in May.
