ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA—Investigators for the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a second suspect in the murder of Imani Roberson, the 29-year-old mother of 4 who went missing on July 16.
Roberson’s husband, Donell Anderson, 22, was arrested on murder charges on last Friday (Aug. 4). Anderson’s brother, Cedarius Glaze, 28, was arrested today around 11:30 a.m., after investigators received a tip and set up surveillance at his job. Glaze was driving a truck at the job site when he was arrested. Glaze played a key role in the disposal of Roberson’s body, authorities said.
Glaze was charged with Tampering with Evidence Concealment of a Dead Body and Arson, the Sheriff’s Office said. With the assistance of the Georgia State Patrol, RCSO investigators were able to apprehend Glaze without incidence, authorities said.
Roberson was shot to death at her home in Rockdale County, authorities said. Roberson had left her mother’s home in Rockdale County after having dinner with her four children and her mother. Her mother, Clarine Adujar-White said Roberson left her two older children, ages 9 and 11, in her care and took the two younger children, ages 3 and 1 month old, to her home in Rockdale. White reported her daughter missing after she did not return to pick up the older children.
Roberson’s SUV was found completely burned in South Fulton County. A K-9 officer that was part of a search team located Roberson’s body about 2.5 miles from her vehicle on last Friday (Aug. 4), Sheriff Eric Levett said during a press conference. While the sheriff did not state a motive for the murder, he did say that the case is one of domestic violence by the very fact that a husband and wife were involved.
Evidence led RCSO investigators to secure warrants for the arrest of Anderson. He was charged with Malice Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon in the Commission of a Crime and booked into the Rockdale County Jail without bond.
Glaze is being held at the Rockdale County Jail awaiting to be transported to the Fulton County, where the victim’s body was disposed and her vehicle was burned. Glaze will be taken into the custody at the Fulton County Jail, a spokesperson said.
Roberson’s one-month-old baby and the 3-year-old were safely reunited with Roberson’s family during the investigation.
Roberson’s family held a candlelight service in Roberson’s memory on Monday, Aug. 7, in front of Roberson’s home. Dozens of people turned out with purple and white balloons to remember the young mother.
