ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA — The holiday season is a time for community, care, and connection, and Springfield Baptist Church, in partnership with the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office, is stepping up to spread that spirit. Together, they will host the Growth of Harvest Holiday Dinner on Dec. 7, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Rockdale Career Academy, 1064 Culpepper Drive SW, Conyers.
The event aims to provide a warm and festive experience for families and individuals in need, especially those who are unhoused. Guests can enjoy a delicious, traditional holiday meal featuring ham, turkey, and all the classic sides. The best part? It’s completely free and open to the public, while meals last.
“This event is about more than just food,” said representatives of Springfield Baptist Church. “It’s about creating a sense of togetherness, offering families an opportunity to share a good meal, and celebrating the love and warmth that this season brings.”
The holiday dinner is made possible by the support of community partners, including Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q and the 100 Black Men of New Rock, Inc., who are committed to giving back to the local community.
The organizers invite those who want to get involved or support this event, by contacting Deputy L.G. Baker of the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office via email at lashanda.baker@rockdalecountyga.gov or by phone at 404-655-0559.
