DEKALB COUNTY, GA– The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit, with the U.S. Marshal’s Office, announced an arrest in the Jan. 10 death of a 17-year-old during an armed robbery outside of a gas station on Snapfinger Woods Drive in Decatur.
On Tuesday, March 28, authorities located Quavion Hale, 18, of Stonecrest, Georgia and took him into custody without incident on charges of shooting Akhir Muhammad, 17, in the back, causing his death.
According to news reports, Muhammad’s mother said her son was killed in an attempted robbery over a gun that he did not have.
Hale is charged with Armed Robbery Weapon and Murder, both felonies. He was transported to the DeKalb County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
