GWINNETT COUNTY, GA—Ethan Dumas, 20, of Decatur, GA is facing several charges in connection with the shooting that took place on Aug. 5 at Sugarloaf Mills Mall in Gwinnett County.
Dumas is charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault, Criminal Damage to Property in the First Degree, Terroristic Threats and Acts, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, and Reckless Conduct. He turned himself in to the Gwinnett County Jail on Sept. 11, after Gwinnett County Police obtained warrants for his arrest.
Detectives determined that the shooting started after an argument between two suspects and an employee of a shoe kiosk inside the mall. Officers working at the mall when the shooting took place around 7 p.m. heard gunshots and responded to vicinity as patrons were fleeing from inside the mall and calling 911 about a possible active shooter.
