Teresa Hardy has been elected as the new president of the National Council of Negro Women(NCNW)-DeKalb County Section.
Hardy, a long-time South DeKalb community activist who formerly served as president of the NAACP DeKalb County branch, will succeed Derrica Williams. Hardy will be installed in September. The date for the installation will announced later.
“I want to express my sincere gratitude for the members of the DeKalb NCNW for electing me as the president of the wonderful community organization. It is an honor and a privilege to serve in this capacity and I am humbled by the trust that has been placed in me,” Hardy stated. “I am excited about the opportunity to work with the members and community to further the goals and objectives of the organization. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those in our community.”
Hardy is a native of Lineville, Alabama. Hardy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems and Human Resource Management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has more than 22 years of experience in Information Technology. “I am committed to serving with integrity, passion and dedication, and I will work tirelessly to ensure that our organization remains true to its mission and continues to make a positive impact on our community,” said Hardy.
