Party With the Past at the Sweet Auburn Curb Market

Come explore Atlanta's past at the Sweet Auburn Curb MarketParty With the Past” on Thursday, Feb. 9, 6:30 p.m. at the Sweet Auburn Curb Market, 209 Edgewood Ave SE, Atlanta.

A central gathering place since 1924, the Sweet Auburn Curb Market has many stories to tell. Come grab a bite to eat, a beer to drink, and learn some history about this historic community. Throughout the evening, explore the history of the Curb Market with pop-up displays as well as screenings of the documentary from Southern Foodways Alliance and filmmaker Katie King, "The Sweet Auburn Curb Market."

At 7:30 p.m., Akila McConnell, founder and chief eating officer of Atlanta Food Walks, will discuss the Curb Market's history and there will be a live performance by local jazz swing band, Jules & the Gents.

Party-goers will be able to purchase food from a variety of eateries including Panbury’s Double Crust Pies, Grindhouse Killer Burgers, Three Cities Pizza, Miss D’s Popcorn and Pralines, and Just Add Honey Tea Company.

 

 

Interfaith community to celebrate faiths


The Annual World Religion Day celebration is set for Saturday, Feb. 18, 2 p.m., at the Dunwoody Public Library, 5339 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd., Dunwoody.

Since 2011, the city of Dunwoody Baha’i community, with the participation of many great friends in the interfaith community, gather to celebrate each other’s faiths and religious and spiritual traditions.
