STONECREST, GA– As food prices continue to soar, The King’s Table at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church is stepping up to support families in need.
On Saturday, Feb. 1, at 9 a.m., New Birth will host its first free food distribution at 6400 Woodrow Rd. in Stonecrest, GA, providing 1,000 families with essential groceries on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The distribution, organized in a drive-thru format, will include fresh produce, protein, and shelf-stable pantry items to help households struggling to keep up with rising grocery costs.
“Food insecurity continues to grip families across our region as inflation outpaces wages and economic uncertainty looms,” said New Birth Senior Pastor Jamal Bryant. “For many, the simple act of putting food on the table has become a financial burden. The King’s Table is here to serve as a lifeline for our neighbors, ensuring no family has to choose between paying bills and putting food on the table.”
Since its inception at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, The King’s Table has distributed more than 1 million meals and expanded from a small church pantry into a full-scale 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The initiative continues to grow, fueled by a coalition of local and national partners committed to addressing food insecurity.
“This mission is powered by the unwavering generosity of our community and the dedication of our partners,” said New Birth’s Outreach Pastor Carla Stokes. “The King’s Table is more than a food pantry—it’s a movement that reminds us all that when we come together, we can help bridge the hunger gap for thousands of families.”
