Sewer improvement projects continue on 2nd and 3rd Avenues in Decatur, expect detours

DEKALB COUNTY, GA–Expect road closures and detours as DeKalb County Watershed Management(DWM) construction crews replace sewer lines and manhole structures on 2nd and 3rd Avenues in Decatur.   

 Motorists are advised that construction will take place during the following periods:

• 2^ndAvenue: Ongoing – Sept.19, 2025
• 3^rdAvenue: Sept. 29 – Oct.17, 2025

Road closure and detour signs will be posted advising motorists of local traffic restrictions. These dates are subject to change based on weather conditions.

Normal construction hours will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays. An increase in construction-related noise and traffic during work hours should be expected.
