Six candidates qualify for Rockdale County local elections, 4 enter state legislative races on March 2

ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA—Qualifying began on Monday, March 2, with incumbent Doreen Williams facing three challengers officially entering the race for the Rockdale Board of Commissioners, Post 2 seat, according to the Rockdale County Board of Elections & Voter Registration.

Incumbent Sandra Jackson-Lett so far is facing one candidate vying for the Board of Education, Post 1 seat.



Incumbent Janie Jones was the sole candidate who qualified on Monday for the Board of Education, Post 2 seat.
Qualifying closed at 5 p.m. on March 2 and will end at noon on March 6.
The General Primary and nonpartisan election is scheduled for May 19.



 

The Georgia Secretary of State’s web site shows that 4 people qualified on March 2 to represent the State House Districts covering Rockdale County and portions of DeKalb County. Rhonda Taylor, who represents District 92,  is the only incumbent so far that is facing a challenger:

House District 91 includes portions of DeKalb, Henry and Rockdale counties.
House District 92 is comprised of only Rockdale County.
House District 93 includes portions of DeKalb, Gwinnett and Rockdale counties.
