DECATUR, GA– DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs invites the community to the Forest Fashion Show and Festival, Saturday, Sept. 26, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Constitution Lakes Park, 1305 South River Industrial Blvd. SE., Atlanta.
The festivities will begin with the Forest Fashion Show from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the forest and trails of Constitution Lakes Park will be transformed into a one-of-a kind outdoor runway featuring real models and sustainable fashions created by members of the community. Guests can expect creative looks made from upcycled and thrifted items, along with unique knitted, crocheted and handmade pieces. Following the fashion show, the celebration continues with the festival from 3 to 6 p.m., featuring vendors, educational experiences, activities and entertainment for the community.
Patrons are encouraged to experience Constitution Lakes Park in a completely new way as the trails become a runway and the forest become the backdrop for a celebration of fashion, creativity and sustainability.
The Forest Fashion Show and Festival combines environmental education, artistic expression and outdoor recreation while encouraging participants to think creatively about reuse, sustainability, and the value of giving clothing and materials a second life.
