Angela Moore wins special election runoff HD 90

Angela Moore won the special election runoff on Tuesday (March 9) for the House District 90 seat.

Moore, a public relations specialist, defeated former State Rep. Stan Watson, receiving 1,626 votes (59 percent), according to unofficial results posted on the Georgia Secretary of State’s web site. Watson received 1,130 votes (41 percent).

A total of 2,756 ballots were cast with only a trickle of voters turning out for the special election. House District 90 is comprised of parts of DeKalb, Rockdale and Henry counties.

Moore will fill the unexpired term of former State Rep. Pamela Stephenson, who stepped down due to health concerns.

Moore released the following statement early Wednesday(March 10) following the election.”

“I am elated to announce that I have been elected as your NEXT State Representative for House District 90 which includes parts of DeKalb, Rockdale, and Henry counties.

I look forward to the hard works we will accomplish together as well as the pride and joy we will take in our communities for the betterment of all mankind!

I am ready to help our children achieve an education that warrants excellence, our family’s affordable housing, accessibility to quality healthcare, and the resuscitation

our local business’ so desperately need.

I am ready to help when and where I can for our seniors, veterans, disabled, and mentally fragile citizens.

I am ready to do my part in making Georgia a shining example we can continue to be proud of and will maintain an independent spirit just for you!

Moore   1,321 votes (59.45 percent)

Watson     901 (40.55 percent)

Total votes:   2,222

Henry:

Moore   217 votes (58.49 percent)

Watson 154 (41.51 percent)

Total ballots:  371

Rockdale:

Moore   88 votes (53.99 percent)

Watson 75 votes: (46.01 percent)

Total ballots cast: 163
