ATLANTA—The City of Atlanta will open a warming center ahead of the cold temperatures forecast this week. The warming center will be located at the Central Park Recreation Center, 400 Merritts Ave. NE, Atlanta. ATLANTA – The House Committee on Reapportionment and Redistricting will conduct an initial hearing on the proposed remedial House districts and map on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 1 p.m., at the Coverdell Legislative Office Building in downtown Atlanta, Room 406. DECATUR,GA–On Thursday, Nov.16, DeKalb County District 5 Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson sponsored a Thanksgiving holiday brunch for seniors at the East DeKalb Senior Center at Bruce Street. Nearly 100 seniors attended the brunch. Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson was joined by DeKalb County Commissioner Larry Johnson and Lithonia Council members Vanneriah Wynn,  Diane Howard, and  Darold Honore Jr.  The purpose of this event was to gather and commemorate Thanksgiving with DeKalb seniors and spread love and encouragement during a season that can be challenging for many seniors.
