LAWRENCEVILLE, GA– Gwinnett Police Robbery Unit needs help identifying a suspect in an armed robbery. On Feb. 13, around 2 p.m., officers at West Precinct responded to an armed robbery call at the Food Mart, 4782 Jimmy Carter Blvd. Officers met with the victim who already had security footage of the incident ready for them to view. The victim stated he was on the phone and standing near the cash register when the suspect walked into the store. DECATUR, GA–The DeKalb County Sanitation Division will host a free paper shredding event Saturday, May 6, 8 a.m. – noon, at the DeKalb County Sanitation Division’s Central Transfer Station, 3720 Leroy Scott Drive, Decatur. Event participants will have an opportunity to responsibly dispose of all types of documents, including sensitive personal documents such as old tax records and legal documents. ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA–Three members of Rockdale County’s 4-H team won first place in the 2022-2023 4-H District Project Achievement Competition, which was held in Eatonton, GA. Roderick Sneed presented and won in the Engineering and Mechanics category. Kelsey Andries won in the Performing Arts Drama category, and Crosby McFall won in the Public Speaking category. STONECREST, GA—A community drive is under way to assist people impacted by the recent tornados that swept Mississippi, leaving a path of destruction and fatalities across the state.
