ATLANTA – The IRS will open the Atlanta Taxpayer Assistance Center on Saturday, March 11, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 401 W. Peachtree St. NW, Atlanta. The special opening is part of its efforts to improve service this tax season. During the special Saturday opening, taxpayers can receive face-to-face help from IRS employees without an appointment. Normally, these centers are open during the week and people should have appointments to receive services. But during these Saturday hours, walk-ins will be accepted for all services routinely offered at an office, except for making cash payments. The Rockdale County Board of Commissioners(BOC) is seeking 18 volunteers to serve on a steering committee that will provide input and oversight of the Rockdale Comprehensive Land Use Plan update. The Steering Committee will work with the BOC through the county’s Department of Planning and Development in partnership with the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) to update the plan. LAWRENCEVILLE, GA— Gwinnett County Police are seeking the public’s help in finding the suspect they believe is responsible for the death of Alinton Joel Riveria-Zuniga, 22, of Texas. The victim died in the hospital after being shot in the head on Nov. 27, 2022, detectives said. Detectives say they believe the suspect has used the name Brayan Duarte and Brayan Sanchez. The suspect was seen leaving the scene of the homicide, getting into a maroon Nissan Pathfinder. The shooting took place at Estates Court in Norcross. ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA– In an effort to accelerate the corrective work on Sigman Road Phase II Widening and Multiuse Path Construction Project, the Rockdale Department of Transportation (RDOT) announced there will be a roadway closure at Sigman and Rockbridge Roads on Saturday, March 4.
