ATLANTA—In anticipation of heavy traffic expected during the Labor Day weekend, the Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) announced today the suspension of lane closures on Georgia interstates and state routes. Highway lanes throughout the state will be open beginning Friday, Sept. 2, at 12 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6. No road work will take place Sept. 3-5, Labor Day weekend.
