All Gwinnett County government offices, with the exception of those operations required for the comfort and safety of residents, will be closed Nov. 11 for the Veterans Day holiday. County offices will resume normal business hours on Nov. 12. A Magistrate Court judge will be available at the Gwinnett County Detention Center during the holiday. DeKalb County officials are attributing an aggressive absentee ballot campaign for increasing voter participation in DeKalb. From the very beginning of the 2020 election cycle, DeKalb County has been committed to providing every citizen equal access to the ballot box by mailing both active and inactive voters absentee ballot applications, officials said in a statement. Out of 500,000 absentee ballot applications mailed, 174,720 voters applied and received absentee ballots. DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections (VRE) has resumed the processing of absentee ballots and will immediately post, updated unofficial election results on www.DeKalbVotes.com as they are available. These results also will be uploaded to the Georgia Secretary of State’s website at sos.ga.gov. As of 2:58 a.m. on Nov. 4, DeKalb VRE has tabulated 79,643 absentee ballots.
