City of Chamblee Police Department is investigating a rash of car break-ins that occurred at Windsor Apartment Homes. The break-ins occurred in the early morning hours on March 26. All of the vehicles had forced entry and various items were stolen. The suspects included two black males driving a Mercedes Benz, which was stolen from Buckhead on the same night as the break-ins at the apartment complex. The car was recovered by Atlanta Police Department the next morning. Anyone who has any information concerning the case is asked to contact Sgt. New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, 6400 Woodrow Road, Stonecrest, will continue to host a weekly drive-through food pantry on  support families in need during the global coronavirus pandemic. The King’s Table, which feeds approximately 1,000 people each week, opens  ach Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at New Birth’s Family Life Center. The ministry, in conjunction with various local and corporate partners, provides free food and other needed toiletry items. Kemp issued Executive Order 04.03.20.01 to deputize  sheriffs for enforcement of his April 2 Executive Order involving businesses, 2establishments, for-profit and non-profit corporations, and organizations. As of today Friday, April 3, 2020, the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office has three employees who have tested positive for COVID-19. Of the three employees, two are deputies, one assigned to the Sheriff’s Jail Division and one to the Judicial Services Division. The other employee is assigned to the Sheriff’s Administration. One of the deputies has since recovered and is scheduled to return to work on Monday April 6, while the others are still self-quarantining at home. ATLANTA—Gov. Brian P. Kemp on Thursday issued a shelter in place order for Georgia’s 10.6 million residents. The order becomes effective beginning Friday, April 3, 6 p.m. and expire Monday, April 13, at 11:59 p.m. Residents are ordered to stay home unless they are seeking essential needs including groceries, medicine, medical equipment or traveling to and from work.
