Rockdale County Chief State Court Judge Clarence Cuthpert, Jr. recently served as a group leader for incoming students at the University of Georgia School of Law in Athens, GA. Each year, every law school in Georgia partners with the State Bar of Georgia Committee on Professionalism and the Chief Justice’s Commission to conduct a program that orients incoming students to ethics and professionalism. The program engages students in interactive discussions that are facilitated by group leaders who are judges and lawyers. GWINNETT COUNTY, GA– Gwinnett County Police investigators are seeking the public’s help in locating Charles Clay, 22, of Duluth. Clay is wanted in connection with multiple financial thefts and fraud charges totaling over $100,000.00. A routine traffic stop lead to charges against Clay. On June 29, a uniform division officer initiated a traffic stop after observing the driver using his cell phone while operating his vehicle. ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA—Sheriff Eric J. Levett recently swore in six graduates of the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Ambassadors Program, the first class since the program was announced in February 2023. The Ambassadors Program grants passionate citizens the opportunity to serve the Rockdale County community by helping the volunteers to create a positive environment between citizens and law enforcement. STONCREST, GA–New Birth Missionary Baptist Church distributed 3,000 new pairs of shoes to metro Atlanta students at its annual back-to-school event, which was held today (Aug. 12) at the mega church’s campus in the city of Stonecrest. New Birth and its community partners also gave away free socks, school supplies, tablets to needy students who qualified based on income, and hundreds of bicycles to those who were fortunate enough to receive a winning ticket.
