CONYERS, GA—It’s been slow going for the City of Conyers’ elections. The city ended the early voting period on Halloween night with just 1,074ballots cast, according to Rockdale County’s Elections Supervisor Cynthia Willingham. The polling precinct closed at 7 p.m.
As of Oct. 6, 2025, there were 10,382 active voters registered within the Conyers city limits, meaning fewer than 11 percent participated in the early voting period, which was held Oct. 14-31.
On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 4, only residents who live within the city limits of Conyers will elect their new mayor and a City Council member to represent District 2, Post 2. Two other council seats are uncontested.
Like Conyers, Rockdale County also had a low early voting turnout for the state-wide elections for the Public Service Commission (PSC) races. The PSC regulates utilities in the state of Georgia.
Countywide, Rockdale recorded a total of 6,273 early ballots cast for the PSC races, the only contests appearing on ballots for residents of unincorporated areas. Overall, Rockdale has 64,618 eligible active voters on the rolls, Willingham said.
Polling precincts will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 4. Voters must go to their assigned precincts on that day.
