CONYERS, GA—The city of Conyers will hold its Municipal General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 2, for the purpose of electing the mayor and two council members: one council member from District 1 and one council member from District 2, Post 1. The four-year terms for all three elected positions begin on Jan.1, 2022 and end on Dec. 31, 2025. Mayor Vince Evans was the sole candidate qualifying for mayor. Candidates who qualified for District 1 are: Eric Fears and Leslie Lambert. Candidates who qualified for District 2, Post 1 are: Charles Bryant, Jason Cosby, and Josie Giles. Only registered voters of the City of Conyers are eligible to vote in the election. Absentee and in-person early voting begins Oct. 12 and ends on Oct. 29. In-person early voting will be held at the Rockdale Board of Elections Office at 1261 Commercial Drive, S.W., Suite B, Conyers. Mailed absentee ballots are to be returned to the Board of Elections office by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 2. Election Day precincts will be at Conyers First United Methodist Church (for the Conyers Precinct) and at Springfield Baptist Church (for the Olde Town Precinct). Both locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7p.m. Location of the final count will be held on Nov. 2 beginning at 7 p.m. on at the Rockdale County Elections Office, 1261 Commercial Drive SW, Suite B, Conyers.
