
The Gwinnett, Newton and Rockdale County health district announced that it received its first shipment of the vaccine—about 2,000 doses– early today (Dec. 16).
District Director Dr. Audrey Arona became one of the first people in the tri-county district to receive the vaccine today during a press conference at the Gwinnett Board of Health Office in Lawrenceville.
Officials will administer the vaccine on Thursday as part of a training exercise that will be held to teach Piedmont Rockdale and Piedmont Newton employees how to administer the vaccine.
The media has been invited to witness five frontline healthcare workers receiving their vaccinations at Piedmont Rockdale Hospital at 1 p.m. at 1412 Milstead Ave., Conyers.
