The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit, working with the Atlanta Police Department, has arrested a suspect in the murder of a man in Decatur last year.
Sheriff’s investigators today(Jan. 5) arrested Denard Juantez Conyers, 29, of Atlanta, at an Atlanta residence on charges of Aggravated Assault and Murder in the shooting death of Russell Filmore.
According to the arrest warrant, both men had been arguing at a funeral on Dec. 20, 2020 in Decatur when the shooting occurred.
Conyers was arrested without incident and transported to the DeKalb County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
