DEKALB COUNTY, GA – DeKalb Voter Registration and Elections (DeKalb VRE) announces early voting details for the July runoff between Democratic candidates Peter Hubbard and Keisha Sean Waites, who are seeking their party’s nomination for the District 3 Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) seat.
Early voting will be held Monday through Friday, July 7-11, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., at three DeKalb County locations.
Election Day for the runoff is Tuesday, July 15.
Early voting sites include:
- *DeKalb VRE Office, 4380 Memorial Drive, Decatur
- *Dunwoody Library, 5339 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Dunwoody
- Salem-Panola Library, 5137 Salem Road, Lithonia
*Denotes drop box locations.
Voters casting absentee ballots must request one by July 7. During the Special Primary Runoff Election, all Democratic voters will see the PSC District 3 race on their ballots. The Democratic runoff winner will advance to the general election in November to face Fitz Johnson, who ran unopposed in the GOP primary.
Any voter who did not cast a ballot in the Special Primary Election may still vote in the Primary Runoff Election. A voter who cast a Republican ballot in the June 17 Primary is not eligible to vote in the upcoming runoff.
“With no candidate receiving over 50 percent of the vote during our previous election cycle, we will host a runoff election to determine the party’s nomination for District 3,” said DeKalb VRE Executive Director Keisha Smith. “With these dates quickly approaching, we are urging voters to make a plan to cast their ballots during this runoff election.”
