DECATUR, GA– The DeKalb County Tax Commissioner’s Office recently mailed nearly 260,000 property tax bills on Aug. 14 to property owners for the 2026 tax year. Owners who signed up for e-alerts may also check their email for billing notifications.
Property owners are receiving newly redesigned tax bills with easy-to-understand details, and clear payment information and deadlines. Additionally, the office launched its new property tax payment website, which now provides taxpayers with convenient e-payment solutions, including improved property search and payment options.
“DeKalb County taxpayers now have the option for a modern and intuitive payment process, both online and in the office,” said Tax Commissioner Nicole M. Golden. “The new, user-friendly payment website features an improved property search function and convenient e-payment options such as Google Pay, Apple Pay, Venmo, PayPal, along with credit/debit cards and real-time validated e-checks.”
Taxpayers may pay their bills in two installments by the Sept. 30 and Nov. 16 due dates. If paying the total annual tax in one payment, the deadline is Sept. 30 to avoid a late fee. Bills for City of Atlanta properties in DeKalb will be mailed at later date.
Payment methods for current and prior year taxes:

If payment has not been posted online, contact the property tax department before placing a stop payment on a check. Cancelling a payment may result in a late fee and NSF fee.
Tax bills are not mailed to mortgage companies by the tax commissioner’s office. Property owners should contact their closing attorney, mortgage company, escrow agent or review their closing statement to determine who is responsible for paying the taxes.
Owners who have not received a bill may contact the tax office. Non-receipt of a bill does not relieve the owner of the responsibility to meet payment due dates.
