DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, 15 law enforcement agencies partner to conduct “Operation Safe, nets over 100 arrests

DECATUR, GA –The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office led local, state and federal law enforcement agencies on “Operation Safe DeKalb 2026,” a two-day operation conducted Sept. 15–16 to locate and apprehending individuals with outstanding criminal warrants throughout DeKalb County.

More than 75 law enforcement officers from 15 agencies conducted more than 400 warrant attempts, resulting in the arrests of 48 individuals wanted on felony and misdemeanor warrants for battery, family violence, cruelty to children, aggravated assault, robbery, probation violations, and other offenses. Among those arrested were individuals wanted on charges of aggravated child molestation and murder.

Law enforcement officials also issued 66 citations and made several traffic-related arrests. All individuals arrested were transported to the DeKalb County Jail.

“Operation Safe DeKalb demonstrates the importance of strong partnerships among law enforcement agencies,” said Sheriff Melody M. Maddox. “Our deputies work every day to locate individuals with outstanding warrants. By working together and sharing resources, we can more effectively locate wanted individuals, hold them accountable, and help keep DeKalb County communities safe.”

Brookhaven Police Department; Chamblee Police Department; City of Decatur Police Department;

Clayton County Sheriff’s Office;

Cobb County Sheriff’s Office; DeKalb County Marshals; DeKalb Police Department;

DeKalb Probation;

Doraville Police Department; Henry County Sheriff’s Office;

Lithonia Police Department;

Pine Lake Police Department;

Stone Mountain Police Department; and the U.S.

Marshals Task Force.
