All offices closed July 4 in observance of Independence Day
DEKALB COUNTY, GA– In observance of Independence Day, the DeKalb County Tax Commissioner’s Office will be closed for the holiday on Thursday, July 4 and will resume regular business hours on Friday, July 5.
As residents prepare to travel this holiday, vehicle owners are reminded to plan ahead and renew their registration early to avoid delays.
“Ensuring your vehicle registration is current should be on your travel checklist before any road trip, whether it’s local or long distance,” said Tax Commissioner Irvin Johnson. “Driving with an expired car tag, or without a tag, can hamper travel plans and be costly in the long run.”
Customers may go online to renew their vehicle registration, pay insurance fines, check their vehicle title and insurance status, change their vehicle registration address, and more at https://eservices.drives.ga.gov.
Self-service tag renewal kiosks are also available at participating Kroger stores in DeKalb. For kiosk locations, visit https://deKalbtax.org/kiosks.
For walk-in service at the Memorial Drive, Clairmont Road and South DeKalb Mall tax office locations, customers should expect delays before and after holidays. Appointments can be scheduled ahead of time or customers may join the virtual waitlist for same-day service at DeKalbTax.org. All locations will be closed Thursday, July 4 and will reopen Friday, July 5.
