DEKALB COUNTY, GA—DeKalb County CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson will host a voting tele townhall on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. with DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections staff.
Residents can call in to hear about early voting, absentee ballots, and what to expect at the polls, and to ask questions live. Register here to let county officials know you plan to be on the call.
Monday, Oct. 5, marked the deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 3 General and Special Election. Georgia does not offer same-day registration, so residents who miss Monday’s deadline cannot vote in the November election or in any Dec. 1 runoff.
Know before you go
The Nov. 3 general election ballot includes races for U.S. Senate, U.S. House, governor and other statewide offices. DeKalb voters will also elect representatives to the Georgia House and Senate, and voters in County Commission Districts 2, 3 and 7 will elect their district commissioners.
Voters will also consider three proposed amendments to the Georgia Constitution and ESPLOST VII, a one-cent sales tax that supports school capital projects, including building repairs and renovations.

Early Voting, Election Day
Early voting runs Oct. 13--30 at 22 locations across DeKalb, including Saturday and Sunday hours. The last day to request an absentee ballot is Oct. 23, and Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3, with polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m."Our Voter Registration and Elections team has opened 22 early voting locations, including evening and weekend hours, so more residents can vote when it works for them," said CEO Cochran-Johnson. "Whether you vote early, by mail, or on Election Day, I encourage every eligible resident of DeKalb County to take part."
