DeKalb County to open cooling centers as scorching temperatures soar to 100+ degrees

DEKALB COUNTY, GA– In response to National Weather Service forecasts of heat indices exceeding 100 degrees, DeKalb County is opening cooling centers on Tuesday, June 24, and Wednesday, June 25.

A room in each available recreation center will be designated as a cooling center, and water fountains will be accessible. Recreation center pools will be open and free to the public from 2 p.m. until closing each day.
