Every Wednesday during the month of June, form 1 to 2 p.m., the DeKalb History Center will offer guided tours of “Deep Roots in DeKalb: the Flat Rock Story of Resilience,” an exhibit located in the DeKalb History Center, 101 E. Court Square, Decatur.
Tours will be conducted in collaboration with Flat Rock Archives and led by Johnny Waits, the archives’ president and co-founder.
A of the Flat Rock community, Waits will provide an insider perspective into the community he grew up in and discuss the everyday life and challenges his family and neighbors faced since the founding of the community in the mid-1830s.
Admission for the tours is $5 for DeKalb History Center members and Flat Rock Archives members. Non-member tickets are $10. Spots are limited.
