Eight schools in the DeKalb County School District have earned either Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Bronze distinction by the Governor Office’s Single Statewide Accountability System (SSAS) Awards Program.
The school awards, developed by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement and approved by the State Board of Education, are part of Georgia’s Single Statewide Accountability System. Highest Performing schools must earn a three-year average College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) Achievement Score that ranks in at least the 93rd percentile.
Greatest Gains schools must earn a three-year average CCRPI Progress Score that ranks in at least the 93rd percentile. Each award category has a Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze tier. Each school will receive special recognition and an award on behalf of Governor Nathan Deal. The SSAS award winners from the DeKalb County School District are listed below, with two DeKalb schools earning awards in both categories.
“The recent recognition from the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement is further proof that DeKalb County School District is not only achieving academic excellence, but sustaining it over a measurable period of time,” said Superintendent/CEO Dr. R. Stephen Green. “I congratulate the award winners in our district, and challenge all schools to match their level of rigor. Our district continues to transcend in ways never seen before. Each day, we are soaring to new heights and proving there are no limits to learning.”
