DeKalb County, GA—Democrat and former DeKalb County Commissioner Larry Johnson has launched his campaign for Georgia State Senate District 10.
This pivotal announcement marks a new chapter in Johnson’s longstanding commitment to public service and community leadership.
“I’ve spent my life listening to – and working with – the people I serve to create and implement real solutions,” said Johnson.
“Now, I’m running for State Senate to bring that same energy, experience and accountability to the Gold Dome-because District 10 deserves a leader who’s ready to lead on day one.”
With more than two decades of experience serving the people of DeKalb County, Johnson said he brings a deep understanding of local issues and a strong record of delivering results. His campaign for the State Senate aims to continue that legacy by focusing on economic development, equitable access to healthcare, improving public education and ensuring safe and vibrant communities throughout the district.
“I am grateful for the outpouring of support for our campaign and look forward to sharing my vision of a safe, healthy and prosperous state with world-class infrastructure, great schools and an opportunity economy that lifts everyone,” said Johnson.
Johnson will appear on the ballot in the Democratic Primary on May 19, 2026.
