DECATUR, GA – Authorities are investigating a threat against the Georgia Superior Court Clerks’ Cooperative Authority’s IT system, officials said in a press release.
The Georgia Superior Court Clerks’ Cooperative Authority received information from the FBI regarding a credible and imminent threat against its IT systems.
Out of an abundance of caution, the Authority initiated its attack defense protocol and has taken its system down to protect the Authority’s data and the data of all users statewide, which includes the DeKalb County Superior Court Clerk’s Office.
The Rockdale County Clerk of Courts Office stated in a pop-up announcements on its web site:
“Due to maintenance, the Georgia Superior Court Clerks’ Cooperative Authority Systems are down. Our office has been affected by this, and we are unable to process any electronic real estate filings, notary commissions, UCCs or electronic certifications. Currently there is no estimated time for resolution. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. The Rockdale Clerk’s office also stated that it will be closed for the Thanksgiving holidays Nov. 27-28 and reopen Dec. 1.
While the defense protocol is in place, the following systems will be unavailable:
- eRecording (electronic land-record recording)
- Notary application processing
- eCertification Portal (records request)
- Filing Activity Notification System (FANS).
Paper recordings will be accepted.
Updates will be provided to the counties as they become available.
