GWINNETT COUNTY, GA– Gwinnett County Government’s Communications Department has been recognized nationally with multiple Savvy Awards from the City-County Communications and Marketing Association or 3CMA, highlighting excellence in storytelling, education and community engagement.
The Savvy Awards honor the most creative, effective and community-focused communications efforts from cities and counties across the United States. Gwinnett County stood out in several categories among large jurisdictions nationwide:
- Savvy Winner (First Place):Gwinnett County Glass Recycling – Go Green Communication Program Efforts
- Savvy Winner (First Place):Upfront Gwinnett: The Hidden Homeless – Interview/Talk Show/News Programming
- Silver Circle (Second Place):Transit Referendum Social Media Campaign – Best Use of Social Media
- Award of Excellence (Third Place):2025 Adopted Budget Video – Education and Training
- Award of Excellence (Third Place):Gwinnett Parks and Recreation 2024 NRPA Gold Medal
- Finalist Video– One-Time Special Programming
“These awards show that the work we’re doing here in Gwinnett stacks up with the best in the country,” said Joe Sorenson, Gwinnett County’s Communications Director. “Our goal is always simple, help people understand what’s going on, why it matters and how it affects them. It’s nice to see that approach get recognized.”
Judges praised Gwinnett’s work for its innovation, community impact and storytelling, noting that the County’s programs set a high bar for large cities and counties across the nation.
The Savvy Awards program is hosted annually by 3CMA, the nation’s leading association for local government communicators program.
