GWINNETT COUNTY, GA– Gwinnett County Police detectives have charged three people in connection with over 100 storage unit burglaries.
Shusune Arrington, 21, of Union City, and Teshauna Lovett, 26, of Atlanta, were arrested at the site in a U-haul at the storagefacility. The third suspect, Niquay Dexter, 33, Atlanta, fled the scene on foot, police said. A warrant has been issued for Dexter’s arrest.
On Dec. 4 and Dec. 6, over 60 storage units at 2044 Old Norcross Road were burglarized. Police learned of the break-ins after several victims reported the burglaries.
Detectives began investigating and located a suspicious U-Haul truck in the area using Flock cameras. Detectives identified the renter of the U-Haul as Shusune Arrington, 21, Union City, GA.
On Dec. 10, officers working the South Precinct responded to a suspicious person call at a storage unit at 4139 Five Forks Trickum Road. Officers located a U-Haul occupied by Shushune Arrington and Teshauna Lovett, 26, of Atlanta, at the storage unit facility. Officers arrested Arrington and Lovett at the scene.
Detectives determined that Niquay Dexter, 33, Atlanta, had fled on foot just before officers contacted Arrington and Lovett.
Officers said that 55 storage units were broken into at the time of the burglary on Five Forks Trickum Road.
Detectives have charged Arrington and Lovett with seven counts of Burglary in the Second Degree. Detectives are currently inventorying the recovered property that was in the U-Haul and have taken out Burglary in the Second-Degree charges against Dexter. Dexter is not in custody currently.
Detectives were able to return approximately $20,000 in Dewalt tools to the owner.
Police are asking if anyone was a victim of a burglary from either of these storage facilities to contact them about missing property.
