The Gwinnett Police Department will partner with local faith communities to participate in National Faith and Blue Weekend, a nationwide effort created to break down biases through outreach among law enforcement and the communities they serve.
Gwinnett Police will participate in seven faith-based events on Friday, Oct. 8, including:
- Community Painting Event: West Precinct and Iglesia Pentecostes Cristo Vive, 2624 Weaver Way, Atlanta, 9 a.m. to noon
- Prayer Service: South Precinct and St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 2180 Stone Drive SW, Lilburn, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Block Party: North Precinct and Buford Church of God, located at 4800 South Lee Street, Buford, noon to 2 p.m.
- Blood/Food Drive: East Precinct and Lifeway Church, located at 2005 Hurricane Shoals Road in Dacula from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Food Distribution: Central Precinct and Care Pointe, located at Britain Drive at Old Norcross Road in Lawrenceville at 4 p.m.
- Cookout: Bay Creek Precinct and United Methodist Church Grayson, 475 Grayson Parkway, Grayson, noon to 2 p.m.
- Community Block Party: Community Affairs and 12 Stone Church, 3330 Club Drive in Lawrenceville, 2 to 5 p.m.
