Gwinnett County to host community meetings for Maguire-Livsey Family Big House Restoration Project

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA–Gwinnett County will host a series of community update and input events for the upcoming restoration of the Maguire-Livsey Family Big House — a landmark that reflects significant cultural heritage and historical contributions in the South Gwinnett community.

The events will give residents an opportunity to learn about the project, ask questions and share perspectives that will help guide the site’s future.

During each session, the project team will provide an overview of emerging themes and ideas for the restoration, and attendees will be invited to reflect on project priorities and goals.

The restoration project will address structural needs, preserve key historical features and explore opportunities for future public use. Community input plays a key role in shaping themes, visitor experience and long-term stewardship of the Big House.

“The community’s voice is essential in this process,” said Gwinnett Parks and Recreation Director Chris Minor. “The valuable insights we learn from these meetings help us ensure the restoration reflects both the site’s history and the needs of the residents it serves.”

Feedback collected during these events will inform the next phase of planning and will be incorporated into project updates, officials said.
