GWINNETT COUNTY, GA – Gwinnett County Police detectives have identified the victim and charged the suspect in connection with a deadly domestic incident that took place on July 11 at a residence on Glen Summit Lane in Snellville.
Johnita Weaver, 61, has been identified as the victim, GCPD announced on Tuesday, July 17. According to a preliminary investigation, Weaver and Dumas lived together in the residence where her body was found on Summit Lane.
Allen Dumas, 52, has been charged with Weaver’s murder. In addition to Murder, Dumas is facing charges of Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During a Felony.
On July 11, around 9:40 p.m., officers responded to a person shot call in the 3500 block of Glen Summit Lane in Snellville. A friend of Weaver had not heard from her and contacted someone with a key to the residence to check on her. The key holder showed up at the house and located Weaver, who’ s deceased.
When officers arrived at the home, they found Weaver and Dumas alive but suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital. Dumas’ injury is being investigated as a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Detectives said they are not looking for any additional suspects.
