ATLANTA – State Representatives Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta), Rhonda Burnough (D-Riverdale), Sandra Scott (D-Rex) and Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain) will host Honoring Heroes Day on Friday, Feb. 28, at 9:30 a.m. at the Georgia State Capitol.
The event will recognize the contributions of school bus drivers and school food service staff in Atlanta, Fulton, Clayton and DeKalb counties public schools who have made an impact on these communities.
“I am profoundly grateful for our school bus drivers and food service workers, whose dedication and hard work reflect our core values of safety, care and service,” said Rep. Schofield. “Their commitment ensures the well-being and nourishment of our students, embodying the spirit of community and excellence. I deeply appreciate all that these vital staff members do daily to make a meaningful impact every day.”
“It is my honor to thank those who greet the students every day, maintain the facilities and provide breakfast and lunch,” said Rep. Burnough. “The services that they provide ensure students are ready to learn.”
“We honor the dedicated bus drivers and cafeteria workers of Georgia who play an essential role in the success and well-being of our students,” said Rep. They are more than just drivers and food service workers—they’re mentors, protectors and friendly faces that bring comfort and consistency to our children’s daily lives. Their dedication and kindness make a lasting impact, and for that, we extend our deepest gratitude. Thank you for all that you do!”
“School bus drivers and food service workers are the backbone of our education system, ensuring that our children arrive safely at school and receive the nourishment they need to thrive,” said Rep.
