Keep Conyers-Rockdale Beautiful to host paper shredding, electronics recycling for Rockdale residents and businesses

ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA– Keep Conyers-Rockdale Beautiful (KCRB) will host Rockdale County Paper and Electronic Shredding Day on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Legion Field, 1260 South Main Street NE, Conyers. The event will be held weather permitting.

“This community event gives Rockdale County residents and businesses a convenient opportunity to securely dispose of unwanted paper records and eligible electronic items while supporting responsible recycling and reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills. Proper disposal of sensitive documents and electronic equipment is an important part of protecting our community and our environment,” said Commissioner Tuwanya Smith, Executive Director of the Keep Conyers-Rockdale Beautiful Advisory Council. We encourage everyone to take advantage of this convenient community service.”

Important Paper Shredding Guidelines:
Paper shredding is limited to one of the following per vehicle: four (4) banker boxes of paper or one (1) 30-gallon clear tote of paper. Plastic bags will not be accepted.

Accepted paper materials include loose, folded, or enveloped papers and documents containing staples. Please remove foreign objects, including spring-loaded binder clips, glue, adhesives, and other non-paper materials. 

The following will not be accepted for paper shredding:

• Photographs
• Hanging metal file folders
• Three-ring binders

Electronic Recycling:

Eligible electronic items may also be accepted for responsible recycling. The following items will not be accepted:

• CRT or box televisions
• Computer monitors
• Hazardous materials
• Large household appliances
• Kitchen appliances without electronic components

Proof of Rockdale County Residency or Business Address Required

Participants must present a photo ID showing proof of a Rockdale County residential or business address. Residents and businesses are encouraged to review the guidelines before arriving to help ensure materials can be processed efficiently and keep the event moving smoothly.
