ATLANTA—Mayor Andre Dickens announced the appointment of Kristin Edwards to serve as the new Manager of Nightlife and Culture under the Office of Film, Entertainment and Nightlife. Mayor Dickens created the role early on in his Administration to serve as a liaison between the City and nightlife industry leaders, and to provide resources and educational opportunities to the nightlife industry like “Training Day” workshops.
“Over the past few years, we have been able to foster better relationships between the City and Atlanta’s nightlife community, and we have seen some real results,” said Dickens. “Training Day workshops, direct outreach and other avenues have delivered tangibles where residents, visitors and operators are all able to enjoy the thriving scene our city has to offer. We look forward to Kristin joining the team and continuing to build on these relationships for a safe and flourishing nightlife scene.”
Edwards most recently served as Director of Special Events and Facilities for the City of Winder. There, she led the development and execution of “First Friday” style events and seasonal festivals, fostering stronger relationships between businesses and the City. She was also the primary liaison between the City and private event organizers and led the planning and organization of City venues and greenspaces for festivals and events.
Prior to her tenure in Winder, Edwards served as Senior Member Services Events Manager for the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce. She has also served as Events Coordinator for the City of Duluth.
Edwards earned a Bachelor of Business Administration, Marketing from Georgia Gwinnett College and a Master of Business Administration from Kennesaw State University.
Edwards began her new role on March 28.
