ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA—Melisa T. Mims scored a commanding victory over incumbent Doreen Williams in Tuesday’s (June 16) runoff election for the Rockdale County Board of Commissioners (BOC) Post 2 seat, according to unofficial election results.
Mims dominated the race, sweeping all 14 voting precincts across Rockdale. Mims captured 70.49 percent of the vote, while Williams received 29.51 percent.
The decisive outcome between the two Democrats marks a significant shift, as voters elected Mims to replace Williams, who was seeking a fourth term in office, having served since 2015.
