NCBW to host virtual community health fair April 17

Celebrate wellness and learn how to create a healthier lifestyle for you and your family by attending the National Coalition of 100 Black Women – Stone Mountain Lithonia Virtual Health Fair on Saturday, April 17,  10 a.m. – 2pm.
Themed “Re-Set & Recharge: Mind, Body and Soul”, the free health fair will feature information, events and prizes for adults and children.  After a year of sheltering in place, virtual learning and social distancing, participants can log in and participate in activities that will also help them learn about healthy living through nutrition, exercise, mental well-being, physical well-being and the Coronavirus vaccine.
Mindfulness – Take a beginner’s yoga class and learn the art of meditation and calm.  Learn poses you can do by yourself at home! Participate in a chance to win a free yoga session with our yoga instructor!
Self/Mental Health Care – Hear a local psychotherapist talk about self-awareness, learning to appreciate life’s beautiful stages and finding the life you envision.

Cooking Class – Take a quick class with your children and prepare an easy, kid-friendly recipe.

Self/Physical Health Care – Have you heard about “Gut Health?”  Gut Health refers to our digestive system and new research shows it has a HUGE impact on our whole-body health.  Hear about ways you can improve your Gut Health and its preventive advantages.

Movement – Get moving with a low-impact Zumba class for the whole family.  And then, take it up a notch with a high-intensity Zumba class, Cardio Drumming and Belly Dancing.
Coronavirus – Should I take the vaccine?  Learn recent facts about the development of COVID-19 vaccines from a local epidemiologist; get this information so you can make an informed decision for you and your family
