LAWRENCEVILLE, GA– The Gwinnett Section of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW Gwinnett) will host the 2nd Annual Black Family Reunion on Aug. 10, noon to 5 p.m., at Rhodes Jordan Park, 100 E. Crogan Street, Lawrenceville.
This year’s event promises to build on the success of the inaugural reunion in 2023, which earned NCNW Gwinnett a proclamation from Gwinnett County Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson.
In keeping with the spirit of last year’s event, attendees can look forward to a variety of attractions and activities. Club BFR featuring music from our DJ, live entertainment, face painting, and other children’s activities will be available. Over 30 partner and affiliate organizations will be present in the community partner pavilions, providing opportunities to connect with a variety of organizations and learn about community resources.
Rhodes Jordan Park offers a picturesque setting with three large pavilions, a playground area, lush greenery, a jogging trail, and a beautiful lake. Families are encouraged to bring tents, canopies, lawn chairs, blankets, tables, and umbrellas to ensure a comfortable experience. Guests are also welcome to bring their own food. Park grills are also available on a first-come, first served basis.
In a show of family pride and unity, attendees are asked to wear their previous family reunion shirts, if they have them, representing their families at this significant community gathering.
This is a family-friendly, rain-or-shine event designed for guests of all ages. Come out for an afternoon of fun, fellowship, and cultural heritage celebration.
