ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA—Joy filled the air as seniors from Rockdale County Public Schools (RCPS) three high schools crossed the stage to receive their diplomas and begin a new chapter of their lives. Families, friends and educators gathered to celebrate the Class of 2026 on Friday, May 29, at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church.
Family members of several of the graduates wore custom-made shirts bearing their graduate’s pictures. Others held up posters honoring their students. Some brought flowers for their students. The momentous event —filled with smiles, hugs, happy tears and plenty of applause —was captured by family members and others positioned with cell phone cameras, as well as the graduates themselves beaming for selfies.
