RCPS accepting Georgia pre-K lottery registration April 5-30

Registration to be entered in the Georgia Pre-K lottery in Rockdale County for the 2021-2022 school year is open April 5-30, 2021. All student registration for Rockdale County Public Schools (RCPS) is online only at www.rockdaleschools.org/registration. Pre-K classes will be available in-person five days a week for 2021-2022; a virtual option has not been provided by the state at this time. Information about RCPS Georgia Pre-K is at www.rockdaleschools.org/prek.

 

Required Documents:

 

Registration for Pre-K takes place online at the webpage for RCPS Student Registration, www.rockdaleschools.org/registration. Photos or scans of required documents can be uploaded into the online registration form. Please make sure photos or scans are clear and readable.

 

To register a child successfully, parents must provide their child’s birth certificate, Social Security card, parent’s photo ID and proof of custody or guardianship if the person enrolling the child is not the birth parent.

 

Proof of residence will also be required to register a child for school.  The following must be provided:

 

  • Current signed lease agreement OR
  • Current mortgage statement or property tax receipt OR
  • Statement of Legal Residence Form {Affidavit} *requires owner/landlord’s signature and notary (copies available fromregister@rockdale.k12.ga.us)

PLUS one of the following:

  • Automobile registration with the same address OR
  • Current gas, electricity, or water bill with the same address

Pre-Kindergarten:

 

For Georgia Pre-K, children must be 4 years old by Sept. 1.  Pre-K registration takes place online at www.rockdaleschools.org/registration. The window to enter your child for the Pre-K lottery is April 5-30, 2021. Parents must provide the documentation described above. Students will be selected for Pre-K programs via a random lottery drawing. Students who are not selected will be placed on a waiting list in the order drawn.

 

Pre-K classes will be in-person five days a week for 2021-2022; a virtual option has not been provided by the state at this time.
