The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating the driver and vehicle that struck and killed a 10-year-old boy who was riding his bicycle on Monday night. Deputies responded to the scene on March 22, around 8:30 p.m.  The child was hit from behind while riding his bike in the westbound lane of Ebenezer Road near Cherry Hill Lane.

A witness told authorities that the vehicle was a light colored (possibly silver) 2006-2011 Toyota Camry or 2006-2008 Toyota Solara. The driver fled the scene and was last seen headed toward Johnson Road.

The child was pronounced deceased on the scene. The vehicle will have front end damage and is missing the front grille Toyota emblem. Possible additional damage will be on the grille or front bumper, Deputy Kyana Jackson, RCSO spokesperson, said.

The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigations Unit is actively investigating this incident.

Anyone with information should call the tip line at 770-278 8188 or Cpl. Rutledge, who is investigating the case at: 470-313-8932.
