State Rep. Doreen Carter, who represents District 92, will host the Georgia House District 92 Nonprofit Summit on Saturday, Nov. 4, 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., at Nancy Guinn Memorial Library in Conyers. This event is a gathering of nonprofits in District 92 that work to make a difference in the community. The theme of the event is “Creating Connections, Building Bridges.”
“My vision for the Nonprofit Summit is to reshape the way District 92’s nonprofits work together to leverage scarce resources, and this informative event will allow nonprofit leaders to learn from one another,” said Rep. Carter. “I hope that our discussions at the Nonprofit Summit will help guide our nonprofit organizations as they create, implement and evaluate collaborative strategies for the future and that this event will result in an action plan to help meet the needs of District 92’s nonprofits, whether the organizations are in the beginning stages of development or are established institutions in the community.”
The Nonprofit Summit is open to any organization interested in expanding nonprofit services in the community, and local organizations are encouraged to set up exhibits highlighting their work in the community. Practitioners with national, regional and local experience working directly for and with nonprofit organizations will lead discussions on topics related to organizational structure and strategic and financial planning.
Interested attendees and exhibitors must RSVP. To RSVP, contact Elaine Davis-Nickens, Task Force for Good coordinator, at 770-331-2537 or edavisnickens@gmail.com.
