ROCKDALE COUNTY—Are you interested in learning about tax sales? If so, mark your calendar and plan to attend Rockdale Clerk of Courts Janice Morris’ “Law Library Speaker Series” on Nov. 8, 5:30 -7 p.m., at the Conyers-Rockdale Library, 864 Green St. S.W., Conyers.
Rockdale County Tax Commissioner Tisa Smart Washington and Attorney Brad Hutchins, general counsel to the Georgia Association of Tax Officials, will present a discussion entitled “Tax Sales.”
Morris said she is excited about the final installment of the free 2022 Law Library Series, which has educated the public on various topics including Real Estate, Simple Divorce, Adoptions, Trusts and Wills.
“We anticipate that the upcoming presentation will be the biggest one yet. This will also conclude our Law Library Speaker Series until we resume next year,” said Morris.
Morris relaunched the Law Library Speaker Series because she saw a need from the citizens in the Rockdale County community.
“People come through the courthouse daily looking for answers we cannot legally advise them on. That is why I wanted to bring lawyers, legislatures, and licensed professionals to provide them with the right information and guidance,” said Morris.
Morris said the response from the public has been incredibly positive and appreciative.
“The turnout has been phenomenal. The residents respect and value the opportunity to meet with professionals for free. There is no charge for the Law Library Speaker Series,” Morris said.
